Following on from this post from Friday, I’ve been thinking more about re-training in some way, & attempting to eventually have a complete career change, rather than limiting myself to just looking for another (most likely badly paid & boring) bioscience job.
Of course, as I’m a lame-ass fool, I dunno if I’ll get around to doing anything at all.
Anyway.
Initial idea is that I want to get out of biology completely, & somehow get into Computing/IT, perhaps programming in particular.
I’ve already got a few books on C#, although I need to get my arse in gear & get back into working my way through them. I haven’t sat & done any C# stuff from the books in probably over a month now.
Also thought about doing some sort of course, & getting some training & perhaps some sort of recognised certificate.
Not sure what though.
Maybe an IT course from the Open University, which could, with more courses added on later, lead into a Certificate/Diploma. Or maybe something from Learndirect. Maybe start with the ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence), which although it is meant to be very basic, would at least be a start & something to stick on my CV.
Fuck. I don’t know.
I’ve filled in the forms on the Open & learndirect websites asking for more info, so should be getting some course info in the post soon.
In the meantime, I need to get back to working my way through my C# books.
