Bored & fed-up

Bored & frustrated with work.

Stuck in a boring, badly paid, dead-end job, with no real chance of any advancement nor a decent salary.

LOL, and my team mates all feel the same. We’ve even all started, at least half-heartedly,  looking around for new jobs, reading the Jobfinder in the local paper, & looking at the jobs on the NewScientist jobs website.

Don’t think I’m quite yet at the point where I really really want to go right now though. Know the people, know the job, don’t like change, & fairly apathetic.

But the boredom & frustration etc is definitely starting to overpower my apathy.

If I don’t get the upcoming Team Leader position, and/or my manager doesn’t let my pointless warning expire, then I think I will certainly reach the tipping point & seriously start applying for things.

I so wish I had done a different degree.

BSc(Hons) in Molecular Biology…yeah, it did have some very interesting bits, but I feel it was an utter waste of time & money. Bioscience jobs are generally crappily paid, & I really find labwork boring. I graduated 7 years ago, & my salary – although better than it was when I graduated – is still utter shite. Whereas other people I know did degrees that actually have an earning potential, & were already earning more way back as fresh graduates than I earn now.

I wish I’d done Computer Science or something. Could’ve gone into Programming, IT, etc. May still have been boring, but I could’ve ended up earning 10 grand more than I am now.
